The result depends on the date used as today by your device. An incorrect device date can change the age or next-birthday countdown. The web calculator is a date tool, not a certificate of age.
Worked example: the birthday boundary
For a Gregorian birth date of 15 March 2000, the Gregorian age on 15 March 2026 is exactly 26 years. On 14 March 2026, the 26th birthday has not yet arrived. Simply subtracting the birth year from the current year misses this boundary.
For a result on a date other than today, use the date-difference tool with the birth date and your chosen reference date. That makes the reference date explicit and allows someone else to reproduce your calculation.
Why the Hijri result differs
Hijri years are shorter than Gregorian years. More complete Hijri years can therefore fit into the same lifetime. This does not make someone older in elapsed time; it changes the units used to describe that time.
Avoid converting an age by multiplying a rounded year count by a fixed ratio. Start from the actual birth date and calculate the full interval, because month lengths, leap years and the position of the birthday matter.
Leap-day birthdays and official rules
A birth date of 29 February needs special care when discussing birthdays in a non-leap year. An app's calendar calculation is not necessarily the rule used by a government, school or insurer. Check the calendar and reference date required by the organisation before relying on an age threshold.
Likewise, age alone does not determine every religious obligation. This tool provides a date calculation; it does not issue a ruling about eligibility or personal obligations.
